Chris Hunt – Club Coach and Treasurer

I am one of only four members who have been with TFN since it started (we used to be Mansfield and moved to Nottingham when the Shop first opened). I have been coaching something or other for twenty years, firstly basketball and then triathlon, and played competitive sport all my life.

Greatest achievements are East Midlands Junior Motorbike Trials Champion, National Basketball League (Div 3) winner, 2 times World Age Group Triathlon Champs representative. I have competed in over 100 triathlons / duathlons over about 13 years. PBs are Olympic distance 1hr 55 (Wolverhampton), 1500m swim – 20m 12sec, 25m bike TT 54m 50sec, 10km run 35m 31sec.

I love mountain biking and cyclocross.

My coaching successes include Ray Gayne, club Ironman record holder (10hr 17m) and top Brit in Age Group at World Long Course, Sibs and Mike (our swim coaches) – both National Age Group Champs, Lawrence Fanous East Midland Junior and Senior Series winner, plus hopefully helping quite a few others achieve their own goals.

I am married to Katie (she’s done two tris) with a son Ben (5) and a dog Bob (also 5).

I work full time as a university lecturer (teaching Finance) and am currently finished a Masters degree in Electronic Learning.

I am BTA level 2 qualified coach and have done most of level 3 (just the assessment questions to do). And I don’t have any spare time!!!!
