As probably the most experienced member of the committee at avoiding racing, I've managed to somehow fall into the position of organising the start of season and end of season meals out. Last year in an unprecendented move, we succesfully combined the Christmas social with the AGM which I think was a great success.

I've been with the club since October 2004 and have probably competed in as many races as the number of years I've paid membership.

Having mostly raced sprint distance I quite fancy doing an olympic later this year if I can get the necessary bike legs to get me round. Oh and a wetsuit that I can take off in less than five minutes and without raising my heart rate to 210 bpm in the ensuing struggle (getting one that isn't too small might be a start - Ed).

Also, along with Deb i'm helping to co-ordinate the Children's Tri in September.

I'm pretty new to the club compared to some other members, having joined about 3 years ago. After swimming and running on my own for a few years it was brilliant to become part of a club which really does cater for all levels of ability.

Since starting triathlons, I've made steady improvements in my times but I'm never going to win races. But I guess that's the point of the club, we are really just trying to help people enjoy the sport and get from it a sense of achievement. This year a few of us (mainly women) have started regularly cycling on Sunday mornings, which has been great, doing 35 miles on a Sunday morning is something I would have never of believed I could do a year ago!

Also with fantastic support from the club coaches, there is a group of us doing Dambuster (Olympic / Classic distance triathlon) and for many of us this will be the first time we've gone beyond "Sprint" distance.

So if you're thinking about triathlon or even just a bit curious, please do come to one of our sessions and give it a go!

Head honcho, the big cheese, the big kahuna etc etc. Believe me, all of these I am not. Just look at the picture and you'll get the gist. The drink deserves an umbrella!!

So far I've got numerous Sprint and Olympic distance under my belt and one half ironman which I'll double this year. My main aim is to try and medal at the Welsh Champs sometime, but with the spanking I got given at Parc Bryn Bach this year, I have a ways to go.

I started with the club probably going on 5 years back to get something a bit more social out of all the training. I was entering London to raise money for Cancer Research and it all took off from there really. One year later and I found myself not only on the committee but the Club Sec. I'd like to think the club has come on a bit since then, but that is for the members to decide. We have a great committee and we'll always strive to make the club better and better and BETTER!

I've always been amazed at how friendly to club is - the support, encouragement, training tips, openness. Nobody keeps the special little tip to themselves everything is always shared which makes for a great club atmosphere.

You'll no doubt see me at many of the training sessions probably messing around as much as I train. But that's the best bit. If you don't enjoy what you do, what's the point

ENJOY, GO MAD!!"
